I decided to ditch Progressive, my previous car insurance company. I shopped around, got quotes from 6 major companies, and Geico was the best price. Instead of about $450 every 6 months, now with Geico it’s only about $250 every 6 months. Yes, switching from Progressive to Geico is saving $200. Since it is such a good deal, my dad paid it in full for me. Officially, I have the cheapest insurance and best driving record in my family. No accidents, moving violations… hell, not even any parking tickets or anything. So I get special rewards for being a good driver, mainly having my insurance paid for me :) My old policy ends 9/20, so my new policy will start the same day. The only downside is I couldn’t get in the emergency roadside program through Geico, because that requires more/better coverage that would have made me shell out $300+ more. No Thanks. I need to join AAA instead, I suppose. It’s not expensive, and is worth it (especially if you have an old car like I do). I just need to remember to get in AAA when I have money in a few days.
Speaking of money, I finished setting up my new bank accounts online. I also have it set to automatically transfer $13 from my checking account to my savings account every month. It’s not much, but it’s something. I also finished setting up my book-keeping/banking application to add my 2 new accounts. I use CheckBook to balance/keep track of my bank accounts. I like it. So now I just have to wait to see if my next SSI check will be direct-deposit or in the mail. I hope it’s directly deposited, so I can avoid having to go to the bank.
I went to a Endocrinologist today. It was a fairly useless visit. Basically, she went over all the problems I had and then went over all the possible treatments. I either tried all the treatments, or can’t try them for various reasons. She said she couldn’t think of anything else I haven’t done that I actually can do. Great. Well, at least she confirmed and wrote a report for my other Doctors stating that it is too dangerous/risky for me to take anything with hormones in it or any medications like Metformin. Those are really the only ways to treat the PCOS and other hormone issues I have. Also losing weight is a problem for me, something I can’t do. We went over my overall diet, and she said I was already on the perfect diet for weight loss. Basically, I have the right diet… but thanks to the hormones, it’s not enough to lose weight. She also said that my extreme fatigue problem is NOT related to anything with the endocrine system, so she can’t help me with that, either.
After the appointment, I went to the office I saw on my way in… the Arthritis and Autoimmunity Center. I went in and made an appointment for 9/17 to see one of the Doctors there. Funny thing is, I had an appointment there a year ago and I never made it. I didn’t realize that until they told me lol. Oh well. The Docors there handle/treat CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) and fibromyalgia. I also need to have my back looked at, because I’m afraid I have the same problem as my dad, which would be bad… very, very bad. Anyway, hopefully the Doctor I’m seeing there will be able to help me with my fatigue problem and my pain issues.
Oh, I added links to my various media collections/lists (look to the left under ‘Personal’). I updated my movie list, and my wishlist… and added in the list of music videos I have. Take a look at that if you want a good laugh :)
I wonder why Dave stopped talking to me. Out of the blue, he’s gone. Don’t even see him on AIM anymore (perhaps he removed me from his buddy list, so I can’t see if he’s online?). I don’t know what happened. Did I do something? I thought things between us were good, I was happy… I just don’t get it. Abruptly stopping all forms of communication is not a nice thing to do, at least be nice and explain things first. Don’t leave me hanging, wondering what the hell happened. :(
